Markus Brehler (Chief Executive Officer, Founder)
Markus Brehler (Chief Executive Officer, Founder) is directing EnOcean since 2001. He has been invited by the World Economic Forum as Technology Pioneer. In 2001, Markus joined Siemens Technology Accelerator as 'Entrepreneur in Residence' preparing business plans to spin-off EnOcean. Beforehand at Siemens, he was establishing the Mobile Phone Accessory Devices Marketing, a USD 100 million plus operation. Assigned to a Siemens/ McKinsey team he was implementing divisional restructuring of the business segment intelligent transportation systems after having spent 8 years in research and development there. Markus has an EE from the TU Munich and started his career at the multinational technology giant Siemens Corporation as development engineer. A German citizen, Markus is fluent in English and attended Executive Programs at MIT, Stanford, Insead and the Indian Institute of Management.
Uwe Thumm (Chief Financial Officer)
Before starting at EnOcean Uwe Thumm was Chief Financial Officer for Sales & Operations at Siemens Mobile Solutions. His focus has always been the effective management of the hi-tech products aiming for maximum shareholder value. After a commercial training and studying business management at the University of Erlangen/Nürnberg he has gained extensive experience in the fields of controlling, business consulting and finance.
Andreas Schneider (Executive VP, Founder)
Andreas Schneider has built a career on bringing ground breaking radio technology to market. For the five years prior to the founding of EnOcean he built up the worldwide marketing of GSM-modules at Siemens AG. Before he acquired nine years of global experience in the area of high technology products, including being Sales Director for trunked radio systems at Rohde & Schwarz BICK Mobilfunk GmbH. He graduated from the Technical University of Munich in electrical engineering with particular focus on high frequency technology and components.
Jim O'Callaghan (VP Sales & Marketing North America, EnOcean Inc.)
Jim O'Callaghan has spent his career building brands, customers and value for a host of innovative technology companies, both public and private. He spent the first dozen years primarily in finance and accounting positions, culminating as CFO participating in two IPOs. For the last decade and a half, Jim has worked almost exclusively in sales, marketing and management roles, both with technology and with RF ventures. He is best known as co-founder of Cirque Corporation, the originator of touchpad pointing devices now common on virtually all notebook computers. Alps Electric of Japan acquired Cirque in 2003. In 2005 Jim joined EnOcean to establish a North American presence. Jim has a BBA in accounting and a MBA.
Frank Schmidt (Chief Technology Officer, Founder)
Frank Schmidt is a physicist specialized in Sensor Physics. He acts as the creator of concepts and is the one who "sets the ball rolling". Before the foundation of EnOcean he was project manager in the central research department of Siemens AG. There he worked out solutions and concepts with his team and coordinated product developments up to their successful market launch. In this position he took out 35 patents for inventions.
Dr. Matthias Heiden (VP Engineering)
With international research experience gathered at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and at Lawrence Berkely National Laboratory (LBL) in California, Dr. Heiden was in leading positions at various international companies in the storage-market. At IBM Germany he managed the technical customer support, quality management and product engineering within the European support teams for mass storage devices. Before he supported the technical market introduction of RAID-storage systems at Digital Equipment (DEC) in Europe. His competency and experience guarantees the high quality of EnOcean products.
Armin Anders (VP Product Marketing, Founder)
Armin Anders has written the business plan for the EnOcean GmbH and founded the firm together with the management team. He has graduated in electrical engineering with focus on Information and Communication Technology. Post-graduate he gained several years of experience as marketing manager for micro controllers at Siemens AG. Thereafter he worked for Siemens Corporate Technology as project manager of a comprehensive transport telematics initiative and as an executive ambassador. Before founding EnOcean, he was a venture manager responsible for start-up foundations at Siemens Technology Accelerator GmbH.
Graham Martin (VP Strategic Alliance)
Graham is a veteran in the semiconductor industry with 25 years experience in analogue and RF solutions at various Engineering, Sales and Marketing positions in USA, GB, Germany, Austria and Norway. Before joining EnOcean he was a worldwide pioneer in low power wireless sensor networks at leading start-up Chipcon (purchased 2006 by Texas Instruments) where he conducted the worldwide business development activities, served as President of Figure8Wireless and was Vice President of the ZigBee Alliance. Graham studied in USA and GB and is a Physics Graduate from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Oliver Sczesny (Project Manager, Founder)
Oliver Sczesny has specialized in high frequency technology, especially layout, simulation and testing of high frequency circuits and aerials. His experience in leading technological development is of great value in successfully bringing products to market. After his studies of electrical engineering at the academy of Würzburg-Schweinfurt, he has been working at the central research department of Siemens AG for 9 years.
