Subtelegram Analysis

This functionality is available only in DolphinView Advanced.

The main purpose of subtelegram analyser module is to visually present captured subtelegrams and their timings. To invoke visualization enable the module, now select a node from the workspace and then a telegram from Telegram Log.

Tip: You can select a telegram by left mouse click, by keyboard arrows or simply use Autoselect functionality for automatic selection of the last received telegram.

Tip: Move the mouse cursor over the Timestamp axis and use the mouse wheel to zoom in and zoom out.

NOTE: The timing information in the Telegram Log is not consistent to the timing shown in the Subtelegram Timing View.

The reason for this is that the Telegram Log uses the PC clock for Timestamp. The Timestamp is set after the Packet arrives over serial interface. The accuracy of the Timestamp information may vary depending on host PC.
On the contrary, the DolphinSniffer only has internal 1 millisecond tick counter but no exact time information.
The Subtelegram Timing View uses the absolute Timestamp of the selected telegram only for the first subtelegram. Then it calculates the following subtelegram times based on the tick count information from the DolphinSniffer firmware.

This means that the relative time span between the subtelegrams in Subtelegram Timing View is 1 millisecond accurate. But the absolute time information may vary depending on when the telegram was received by DolphinView application.
