Holding Dolphin Chip in RESET

QUESTION

Can I hold the Chip of the Dolphin Modules in RESET to reduce energy consumption?

ANSWER

It is possible to hold the chip in a RESET – state by keeping the RESET Pin HIGH. The consumption of the chip is typically 0,6 mA. After putting the RESET Pin to LOW it will restart.
This approach is not typical because the Dolphin Chip has better sleep modes, which have lower consumption. See the different Sleep Modes in DolphinAPI User Manual.

You can also trigger the Sleep Mode by ESP 3 Command

CO_WR_SLEEP
