SIDO 2022 – EnOcean presents energy harvesting solutions for intelligent and sustainable buildings

At booth W308b, EnOcean shows battery-free wireless solutions that enable flexible, maintenance-free IoT applications for sustainable buildings.

Oberhaching, Germany and Lyon, France – September 7, 2022

At the 8th edition of SIDO (14-15 September 2022, Lyon, France), EnOcean, the world’s leading developer of battery-free wireless technology, is presenting maintenance-free wireless solutions for the IoT based on energy harvesting. SIDO is the leading European Solutions and Technologies event for IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and XR for strategic decision-makers in innovation and business operations.

EnOcean’s battery-free radio devices generate reliable sensor data for IoT systems and enable flexible, maintenance-free applications for worldwide use in building automation, smart homes, LED lighting control and industrial applications. Together with IoT systems, these self-powered solutions help to develop new service models, optimize the use of buildings and make them more flexible, energy-efficient and cost-effective. Visitors to SIDO can experience a selection of these self-powered devices at the EnOcean booth W308b.

EnOcean’s energy harvesting devices communicate using the open radio standards EnOcean (ISO/IEC 14543-3-10/11), Bluetooth® and Zigbee, so they can be seamlessly integrated into all sorts of building networks. This makes them ideally suited for a broad variety of IoT applications, from smart working/smart spaces concepts to intelligent solutions which optimize the CO2 footprint of buildings. Thanks to the patented energy harvesting technology they neither require wires nor batteries for smooth operation and are therefore a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to wired and battery-powered solutions. This also means that they can be flexibly installed anywhere in a room and require no maintenance.

About EnOcean

EnOcean GmbH is the pioneer of energy harvesting. Headquartered in Oberhaching, near Munich, with its subsidiary in Salt Lake City, UT, the company delivers valuable data for the Internet of Things (IoT) with its resource-saving technology. For more than 20 years, EnOcean has been producing maintenance-free wireless switches and sensors, which gain their energy from the surroundings – from movement, light or temperature. The combination of miniaturized energy converters, ultra-low power electronics and robust radio technology based on open standards (EnOcean, Zigbee and Bluetooth®) forms the foundation for digitized buildings, services and production processes in the IoT. The self-powered solutions are used in building automation, smart homes, LED lighting control and industrial applications. As an innovation driver, EnOcean is a strong partner for more than 350 leading product manufacturers and has already completed more than a million buildings worldwide with energy harvesting solutions.
