Webinar: Smart Home with Raspberry Pi and EnOcean

Practical introduction on connected home applications based on energy harvesting wireless technology

Munich, Germany, June 27, 2014

How to develop applications for the connected home using the Raspberry Pi mini-PC and batteryless wireless sensors? The webinar “Enable Your Smart Home with Raspberry Pi & EnOcean” of online community element14 and EnOcean gives the answer on July 10, 4:00 PM (MESZ).

Attendees will get a basic introduction on the functionalities of energy harvesting wireless technology, the Raspberry Pi and the Raspian software. In addition, they learn how to configure the FHEM home automation server for several smart home applications. Highlight is a live showcase that will demonstrate the EnOcean Sensor Kit in action. Markus Kreitmair, Innovation Manager at EnOcean, will present the 60-minute webinar. As of now, those who are interested can apply at www.element14.com/community/events/4098.

Energy harvesting wireless technology

EnOcean is the world leader in energy harvesting wireless solutions. The wireless modules gain their energy from motion, light or temperature differences by using energy harvesters. This allows wireless solutions that operate without batteries and are therefore maintenance-free for high reliability.

About EnOcean

EnOcean is the pioneer of energy harvesting and sensor-to-cloud solutions for sustainable Internet of Things (IoT) applications. For more than 20 years, EnOcean has been producing maintenance-free wireless switches and sensors, which gain their energy from the surroundings – from movement, light, or temperature changes. The combination of miniaturized energy converters, ultra-low power electronics, robust radio technology, and open multi-protocol connectivity solutions based on open standards (EnOcean, Zigbee, Bluetooth®, BACnet, Modbus, LON, and IAP) forms the foundation for smart buildings, services, and production processes in the IoT. The sustainable EnOcean solutions are used in building automation, smart homes, LED lighting control, and industrial applications to optimize the CO2-footprint of buildings. EnOcean is a strong partner for more than 500 leading product manufacturers and has completed more than a million buildings worldwide.
