EnOcean and BANFi Power Smart Lighting in Taipei

In the heart of Taipei’s Zhongzheng District, a new benchmark in smart lighting has been set. BANFi Semiconductor and EnOcean have joined forces to deliver an advanced Bluetooth® Mesh / NLC lighting solution that combines intuitive control, elegant design, and sustainable performance — all powered by EnOcean self-powered technology.

At a newly completed project site on Yanping South Road, BANFi implemented a complete lighting ecosystem built on EnOcean and BANFi’s Bluetooth Mesh / NLC Profile platform. This vertically integrated system connects every layer from intelligent device management to responsive lighting control. It thus creates a fully decentralized, future-proof solution.

Smart Control Made Simple

With the BANFi ONE app (iOS), users can easily group devices, define lighting scenes, and plan sensor-based automation. All settings are stored directly within the devices, ensuring reliability and local control — no central gateway required.

At the heart of the user experience is the EnOcean Bluetooth self-powered switch (BFi51WSX). Using German energy-harvesting technology, the switch operates without batteries or wiring. It delivers a clean, minimalist aesthetic while reducing installation complexity and maintenance.

Flexible Dimming and Energy Monitoring

The system’s Bluetooth NLC DC dimmers support both NLC Lighting and Energy Monitor Profiles. They offer smooth dimming and energy data insights for any environment:

  • BFi53CVD (DC24V CV 5-channel) – for tunable white and RGB constant-voltage light strips.
  • BFi53CCD (DC24V CC 2-channel) – for constant-current COB and other high-efficiency light sources.

Smart Sensing for Efficiency

The BFi51EMD module integrates PIR motion and illuminance sensing. It enables automatic on/off control and constant brightness regulation and ensures light is only on when and where needed.
