Rethinking Sustainable Building Automation

The demands on buildings are changing rapidly. Flexibility, energy efficiency, and sustainability are now key priorities. At Light + Building 2026 in Frankfurt, EnOcean demonstrates how modern building automation meets these expectations. The focus is on intelligent, maintenance-free solutions for future-ready (work) environments. They combine technological innovation with a strong commitment to sustainability. Visitors can experience EnOcean in Hall 9 at Booth D10/D16.

A New Generation of Programmable Transceivers

With the TCM 600, EnOcean takes programmable transceivers to the next level. The new generation enables highly integrated and powerful actuator . Compared to previous modules, the TCM 600 delivers significantly higher processing performance and substantially more memory. At the same time, power consumption is reduced by more than forty percent. This combination forms the basis for flexible and efficient automation concepts. The transceiver can be individually programmed and supports current EnOcean Alliance specifications for security and updates.

Security as the Foundation of Modern Systems

Connected buildings require a high level of security. The TCM 600 was designed with these requirements in mind from the outset. A comprehensive hardware-based security architecture protects systems from the very beginning. Secure boot mechanisms and protected data storage ensure integrity and reliability. Integrated security accelerators prepare the platform for future threat scenarios. The transceiver meets Security Level 3 requirements of the ARM Platform Security Architecture. This underscores EnOcean’s long-term security commitment in building automation.

Energy-Autonomous Sensors for Intelligent Spaces

Complementing the new transceiver generation, EnOcean presents an update of its EMDC sensor family. The energy-autonomous motion and light sensors operate without batteries or wiring. They have proven their value in meeting rooms and open-plan offices worldwide. Automatic lighting and HVAC control help reduce energy consumption noticeably. At the same time, they enable demand-driven use of spaces and services. Maintenance-free operation ensures easy installation and long-term cost benefits.

Greater Precision for New Application Areas

With the latest update, EnOcean significantly expands the application range of EMDC sensors. Even challenging areas such as corridors or individual workstations can now be monitored precisely. A new snap-in interface simplifies the installation of dedicated masking covers. Three matching covers are included as standard. They support typical applications such as corridor monitoring or desk occupancy detection. This creates greater transparency regarding space utilization and efficiency potential.

A Future-Proof Foundation for Sustainable Buildings

Together, the TCM 600 and EMDC sensors form a powerful automation platform. System integrators benefit from high integration and flexible design options. Building planners gain a reliable foundation for sustainable and cost-effective concepts. The TCM 600 is available immediately for customer designs. The enhanced EMDC sensors will be available from the second quarter of 2026. With these innovations, EnOcean sends a strong signal for the future of building automation.
